Anatomy of a Weekend: Open Studio

This past Sunday we had a little open studio event for Katie to welcome her to the space. I'm pretty sure she knows the nicest people in Dayton - everyone she introduced me to was smiley and enthusiastic and so happy to be there in support of her. It was so sweet to see. Many of them brought their kids and many of those kids made paintings or drawings while they were there. It was sort of spontaneous and it was so fun to watch them in action in our big, beautiful space. All in all, it was a great time, even if it was hot enough up there to melt our faces off (I'm moving 'big-ass fan' to the top of the birthday wish list).

I saw this pretty kitty - her name is Midge - hanging out by the kioskos in Luquillo, where we stopped after a rainforest hike. She was a little skittish, but I got a couple good pets in.
